THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT | FOR HIM
As the next insert into my Christmas Gift Guide special, I’m
tackling the men in our lives – I mean honestly, how hard can it be to buy
something for someone that doesn’t shop by trends? Well we all know it’s not as
easier as that. And if you have friends or relatives that request presents like
socks, beer or Rowntree’s Fruit Pastels (yes I have had that before) then let’s
treat our nearest and dearest to the very best this Christmas!
Now everyone loves a new scent this time of year, why not
pick up the latest Hollister Wave Gift Set? With refreshing notes of
grapefruit, herbaceous bamboo leaves, lavender and Cliffside cypress he’ll be
super thankful for his gift this year. Priced at £36 from Debenhams. Next up,
for the one who always seems to loose everything, treat them to a Tile
Bluetooth Tracker. Easily attached to their wallet or keys, the device tracks
the last place he puts his beloved items. All controlled through a handy App he
can download to his phone, iPad or laptop. Sound good? Snap up yours for £23
from Tile Mate.
If you’re thinking of buying something a little more
classic, the Cockburn’s Special Reserve Port is an iconic gift to give this
season, from just £12.99 at Waitrose, Tesco, Morrison’s or Asda. If they’re
into their vintage clothing, treat their garments to a little rejuvenation this
Christmas with the Mr.Black Garment Essentials range. Both the Wool &
Cashmere Wash and the Refresh products will have their wardrobe back to top
spec in no time! From just £9.95.
If you’re still stuck on what to buy that extra special
someone, maybe it’s your Dad or boyfriend, why not invest in a very special
something that they’ll be thankful for every time they reach for the liquor
cabinet. The Balbair Vintage Collection is a timeless present your man will be
over the moon with. Delivered in a foldout display box, it’ll surely be his
favourite present – even if he can’t say that in front of family. Ranging from
£42-£100 dependent on the age from The Whiskey Exchange.
Simple and strong, the Old Fashioned Cocktail Kit by Tipplesworth is a great
stocking filler priced at just £15. Containing Woodford Reserve Kentucky
Bourbon, Tipplesworth Pure Cane Sugar Syrup, Tony Angostura Bitters and a
Stirrer – he’ll be able to rustle up a little something for himself in no time!
Now if you’re not going to see that special someone and
you’re worried it won’t be delivered in time, then opt for the Letter Box GiftSet Shop. Created to fit through any door (no hidden packages left in the shed)
he’ll be able to enjoy his British only products on the 25th of
December – no matter if he’s in the pub and misses the postman!

HOTEL REVIEW: THE ZETTER TOWNHOUSE, LONDON
As
you probably know by now, London is like my second home. I don’t think there’s
ever a month, or a two-week period that goes by without that 2hour 14 minute
journey from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston. But this time we’d booked
the lush Zetter Townhouse for a change from the average stay.
Walking
up to the beautiful townhouse, we recognised from the outside this wasn’t going
to be just an average two-night stay in London. Clerkenwell itself seemed like a
small suburb compared to the busier areas of London. The pastel blue door was
almost non-recognisable as a hotel, just the italicised name across the front
in black writing gave it away – no mammoth branding or signs to be seen.
On entering
the building it was like attending an old-English Mad Hatters tea party. Quirky
prints filled the walls like a game or tetris, furniture cluttered the wooden
flooring in different fabrics and shapes, whilst tassel light fixtures hung from
the ceiling. We knew we were in for a treat, just from dodging through the sea
of people in the reception enjoying spectacular cocktails!
POSITIVE MIND, POSITIVE VIBES, POSITIVE LIFE.
There comes a time in every young persons life where they begin to realise that those little things that once kept them awake at night are just a speckle of what they’ll have to deal with when their older. This realisation for me came a couple of years ago. I woke up one morning and decided that that day was going to be my day. I was going to do what I wanted, not take anything to seriously and realise that every cloud truly does have a silver lining. And since then, that’s how I’ve lived.
