Breakfast cereals can be a tricky one, some people think they're quite good for you but in actual fact most are full of added sugar - not something you should be eating first thing in a morning! So swap your usual sugary morning meal and make your own granola at home with the help of Bioglan Chia and Flax Seed mix. Combining the two fibre sources and offering your body a morning boost of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, fibre and protein is exactly what you're morning routine. Trans-fat free, Gluten free as well as low in sugar with non GMA - what's not to love?
X2 cups of rolled oats
X1 cup of rolled quinoa
1/2 cup of Bioglan's Chia and Flax Seeds
X1 bag of mixed seeds and dried nuts
1/4 cup of honey
Cinnamon (to taste)
This is by far one of the easiest recipes I've done but the outcome is probably one of the tastiest! Firstly, preheat the over to 180 degrees and line two baking trays with grease proof paper.
Add all the dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix thoroughly so the seeds and dried fruit are spread evenly. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and mix again so it's even spread all over the mixture.
Next squeeze in the honey bit by bit, making sure to stir the mixture in-between so everything is covered. Once complete, pour on to the baking tray sparingly making sure the mix isn't all touching.
Pop it in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown. Leave to stand until cold and crispy, then voila! Your healthy granola is complete. Store in an air tight containers and consume within one week for ultimate freshness.
