Another day, another cocktail – but this time I was learning
how to make them myself… Pretty cool hey? Heading over to The Alchemist on New
York Street in Manchester, I was invited along to a blogger event to sample the
cocktail menu and learn the madness behind the concoctions.
The Alchemist has always been one of my favourite spots in
Manchester if I fancy a cocktail or a more sophisticated night out with the
girls. There’s two in the town centre, one which sits at the entrance of
Spinningfields opposite Neighbourhood quite close to Grand Pacific which again
is a great area to go out in Manchester if you fancied something a little more
dressy. The other Alchemist is located on New York Street, just a stones throw
away from Piccadilly Gardens where you’ll find other restaurants and bars such
Kroma and Prezzo. So who could
possibly resist an invitation to learn exactly how to create those experimental
cocktails? I know I couldn’t!
Myself and Laura from The Fashion Wonderland,
headed over to New York Street after work, greeted by the lovely Scarlett we
were put into groups dependent on the cocktail we’d like to create. All I knew
was I wanted to create something super fun and crazy, just like the bar staff
do on a Saturday night. I ended up opting for the Lightbulb Moment which
consisted of gin, Pimms, ginger beer, raspberry, lemon and mint - a massive fave when it comes to weekend drinks! Using these
super cute copper pans and equipment, we learnt all about how to mix the right
consistency whilst taking in the beautiful industrial-esque interior of the
venue. Have you ever seen a more Instagrammable restaurant? After snacking on
cute canapés and receiving hair treatments from Tres Sobre, we headed home for
the evening before things got a little out of hand
I haven't actually eaten at The Alchemist before but it looks delicious!
