I've seen so many comments about everyone wanting a boyfriend when it comes to the colder months, but is it really that important for somebody else to make you happy? Obviously it would be great if everyone had their fairytale ending and was madly in love, but for some of us we've not quite made the first chapter yet. That's why I'm determined to enjoy Christmas as much as ever, just me myself and I!
Reason one: your bank balance. When I was with my ex, we'd spend mad amounts of money on each other. Now all I buy for is my family so that extra cash can be spent on me - result!
Reason two: no drunken 3am phone calls. Why is it at Christmas lads love to go out for a 'few pints' which turn into a 3am phone call asking to be picked up? Being single at Christmas, you can sleep knowing you won't be woken up by a rambling fool apologising and asking to be picked up.
Reason three: you can watch as many Christmas films as you want. There's no fighting for the remote, a Sunday afternoon filled with soppy old Christmas films and a box of Celebrations will be undisrupted.
Reason four: Christmas shopping. Most men hate shopping at the best of times so being dragged around at the busiest time of the year results in a lot of huffing and puffing. At least now when you go on your own, you don't get the 'how much are you spending on her' question every five minutes.
Reason five: you can spend Christmas Day wherever you want. There's no back and forth between both families, you can wake up with your nearest and go to bed with them too.
